During a thunder storm, John Mitchell, while travelling on the road, met "a Man of a gigantick Stature, his Face shone like the Sun, on his Head something resembling a Crown with Stars, with Wings on his Shoulders, his Body seemed of transparent Fire, but suddenly it disappeared like several Balls of Light, with an Explosion like that of a Number of Cannon."
