Database p strange lights

"between nine and ten o'clock, the following curious phaenomenon was observed by hundreds in St. George's - Fields, Newington, Lambeth, and the parts adjacent: - A pellucid globe of fire, apparently about six inches in diameter, was seen to rise from the Thames, or the fields beyond Millbank, its course was in a straight line towards the Green-Fields near Kennington turnpike. It emitted a light equal to the moon at full, and on passing over the road which leads from St. George's Fields to Vauxhall it separated into several parts, some of which formed small globes about the size of a tea-cup, others were oblong, seemingly as big as a weaver's shuttle, all which followed one another in a direct line, till, after a space of about three minutes, they vanished over the fields beyond Kennington without either noise or smoke."
